Forskere fra DTU Vindenergi har siden sammen med DONG Energy undersøgt baggrunden for det atmosfæriske fænomen. „Det skyldes en fugtig, varm luftmasse, der føres fra sydvestlig retning over det kolde hav den 25. januar 2016 klokken 12:45, hvor dugpunktstemperaturen er sådan, at der dannes tåge i lav højde. Vindhastigheden er 13 m/s ved navhøjde, hvilket betyder, at møllerne producerer med optimal effekt,“ fortæller seniorforsker Charlotte Bay Hasager, DTU Vindenergi. „Vi ser, at lange, smalle vindskygger trækker sig adskillige rotordiametre i vindretningen. Wind farm wake over North Sea By Tom Nervil Last year, helicopter pilot Gitte Lundorff from Bel Air Aviation took this picture with her iPhone 6S while flying over the offshore wind farm Horns Rev 2. Researchers from DTU Wind Energy have since teamed up with DONG Energy to investigate the cause of the atmospheric phenomenon. “It’s caused by a humid, warm air mass from the southeast passing over the cold sea on 25 January 2016 at 12:45, when the dew point temperature is such that fog is formed at low altitude. The wind speed is 13 m/s at hub height, which means that the wind turbines are operating at optimum output,” says Senior Researcher Charlotte Bay Hasager, DTU Wind Energy. “We can see long, narrow wind shadows extending several rotor diameters away in the wind direction.
