New research facilities DTU wants to create the best possible conditions to attract the best researchers and students from all over the world. To that end, the University is currently investing about EUR 540 million in a comprehensive transformation of the University's buildings and infrastructure. The following research facilities and constructions were completed in 2015. Audiovisual immersion lab DTU has some of the world’s most sophisticated laboratory facilities within audiovisual research. The new audiovisual immersion lab is a supplement to the University's existing anechoic chambers and a state-of-the-art facility where 64 loudspeakers help create realistic soundscapes in order to investigate spatial hearing in challenging conditions—such as a noisy party or a crowded railway station. hea.elektro.dtu.dk PowerLab PowerLabDK is a world-class experimental platform for technology development, testing, training, and demonstration within electric power and energy systems. At the heart of PowerLab is the Intelligent Control Lab where electricity production on the island of Bornholm can be monitored on a large screen. Students, researchers, and product developers have access to facilities such as the Intelligent Control Lab, Electric Lab, High Power Lab, High Voltage Lab, PowerFlexHouse, Power Student Lab, and SYSLAB. New chemistry laboratories powerlab.dk DTU’s new chemistry laboratories house the biggest fume cupboards in Denmark and constitute a technically advanced machine: 110 fume cupboards distributed over an area of 3,200 m2.
