10 News from D TU DTU merges with Copenhagen University College of Engineering On 1 January 2013 DTU merged with Copenhagen University College of Engineering, IHK. DTU is now the largest BEng provider in Denmark. The aim of the merger is to produce more BEng graduates for industry and training them to be more innovative. This will be achieved by bringing together the best from DTU and IHK and establishing a vocational development setting in a world-class research environment. The best of both worlds Practice-oriented, business-oriented, and innovative—those are the PHO TO THOMAS HJOR T JENSEN in either Lyngby or Ballerup, but with study activities at both campuses. The twin campus structure will be continuously developed. BEng programmes in English DTU currently offers a number of Bachelor programmes taught in English at DTU Ballerup Campus. keywords for tomorrow’s BEng programmes. Based on the needs of the business sector, the programmes will both have a research and practiceoriented approach. This ensures that the students obtain a competitive education, and that businesses will be able to hire engineers possessing up-to-date qualifications.
