Building 224 will also undergo a complete renovation. The new building will house laboratories for a protein research centre at DTU Systems Biology. • 1,300 sq m in the new building and 3,400 sq m in the existing building. • EUR 8.1m / DKK 60.4m for new building and EUR 6.4m / DKK 48m for renovation. • Construction period: 2014-2015 Biotechnological research in a sustainable future Construction of a new building to house worldleading Life science and bioengineering complex Construction of a new building that will integrate existing buildings 201 and 204, which will also be renovated. The complex will house DTU’s life science A boost for chemistry Construction of a new building—building 211—and renovation and conversion of existing buildings 206, 207 and 209. The new building will be used by DTU Chemistry and will be equipped with research and teaching laboratories. • 3,200 sq m new building to be constructed. 11,100 sq m in building 206-207 and 209. • EUR 19.8m / DKK 147.9m • Construction period: 2013- 2014 Agora—room for energy research Construction of a new building—building 331—that will connect buildings 325, 326 and 329. Building 325 will also undergo renovation. The project is part of providing facilities for energy research such as PowerLabDK, which is a collaboration of internationally world-class research facilities for electric power and energy. The project will also provide a new learning environment, teaching facilities and offices. • 1,850 sq m of new building and 2,275 sq m of renovated space. • EUR 8.3m / DKK 62m • Construction period: 2014-2015 Denmark’s biggest space research environment Construction of the new building—building 328— with advanced laboratories, classrooms and offices for DTU Space –National Space Institute. Sections of the department were formerly located in Copenhagen. Now DTU Lyngby Campus is home to Denmark’s biggest space research environment. • 2,400 sq m • EUR 10.8m / DKK 80.4m • Construction completed in 2012 and bioengineering activities and provide the framework for a unique academic environment with ultra-modern facilities devoted to networking and research. The buildings will house laboratories, offices, conference rooms, cafeteria and café areas, and integrates the three DTU departments that are currently situated away from the DTU Lyngby Campus: DTU Aqua (National Institute of Aquatic Resources), DTU Food (National Food Institute) and DTU Vet (National Veterinary Institute). • The total floorage area is 39,000 sq m • EUR 160.8m / DKK 1.2bn • Construction period: 2014-2016 research facilities for biotechnological research. The building will house the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability (CFB).
