Five stars for DTU’s study environment Study Environment Survey shows a high level of student satisfaction. According to the latest survey, carried out in October 2012, the study environment at DTU Lyngby Campus is buzzing with activity and social interaction. The survey revealed that the most important aspect for students is social interaction with fellow students and not feeling lonely. An impressive ninety-two per cent of the students feel that they are happy on campus. The Dean of Undergraduate Studies and Student Affairs, Martin Vigild is extremely pleased with the results. “The survey shows that we are on the right track in our efforts to give the students the means to enjoy a rich and rewarding PHO TO MIKAL SCHLOSSER study environment. DTU must be a living ecosystem which the students and their teachers can increasingly exploit and enjoy”, says the Dean and continues “The positive study environment at DTU is an asset in itself, helping to bolster teaching and attract new students to DTU.” MARI A VISKIN DE/HENRIK LARSEN DTU programmes arm graduates with the skills that are in demand on the labour market, as both newly qualified engineers and their employers can confirm. Recent graduates from DTU do very well, are satisfied with their education and are popular among employers. These are the results of a recent survey DTU engineers well equipped to join the labour market of graduates and employers conducted by the consultancy company Damvad on behalf of DTU. In the survey, DTU’s 2-year MSc programmes were evaluated by graduates from the period 2008–2011, and by companies that have employed graduates from the same years.   Very satisfied Fully 92 per cent of survey respondents answered that their education met their expectations. Moreover, 96 per cent stated their satisfaction with the quality of their programme. Not only are DTU graduates satisfied with their education, but most of them—93 per cent—have already found employment.   Employers of DTU graduates also have a positive impression of DTU’s programmes. One of the companies that participated in the survey is Novozymes:  “The candidates we recruit from DTU are generally of very high quality. They are extremely professional and have what we call ‘passion of science’— i.e. they are deeply committed to the natural sciences and biotechnology. In addition, their general skills are very good, which means that they can tackle all kinds of assignments and are highly adaptable,” relates Nanna Kristensen Soni, Organisational Development Director at the Novozymes Research & Development Department.
