Three DTU teams won their categories in the Venture Cup Startup Competition 2012 finals held at Copenhagen City Hall. Biosyntia won the Cleantech & Environment category. The team has invented a technology that promotes enzymes and pathways, which may prove crucial to making biofuel the energy resource of the future. Windshare succeeded in the Mobile & Web category. The team has invented a pocket-sized WindSensor and the application WindShare, which provides instant shareable knowledge about the wind at a very competitive price. Optical Accelerometer won the Product & Technology category and has developed a cost-effective optical sensor that can help cut costs linked to repairing wind turbines.  The sensor provides notification when a wind turbine is on the point of breaking down, allowing repairs to be carried out before major damage occurs. MARIE DINE SEN DTU student team wins World Championship at Field Robot Event 2012 in Venlo, The Netherlands The student team from DTU Electrical Engineering and their “Rosebot” beat fierce competition from 18 other teams to take the title. The annual Field Robot Event is an international competition for agricultural robots. In 2012 the event was held in Venlo, The Netherlands, with 18 teams from all over Europe participating. “Rosebot” and the DTU team of five master students (Nicolai Pedersen, Simon Bagger, Nanna Einarsdóttir, René Tavs Gergersen and Thomas Falkenberg) competed in three categories related to navigation in a field of potted roses.  PHO TO RENE GRE GERSEN Biosyntia victorious in the Cleantech & Environment category.
