Professor Thomas Lars Andresen is one of eight researchers to receive a fellowship, which comes with a grant of DKK 10 million (EUR 1.4 million). The same sum is awarded to Associate Professor Morten Mørup, who has also been given a fellowship to spend the coming five years researching the communication patterns in the brain. Mads Hald Andersen, an affiliated professor at DTU Systems Biology receives the Lundbeck Foundation Young Researcher Award of DKK 300,000 (EUR 40,000). 1 November  Honoured by colleagues Professor Carsten Thomassen from DTU Compute receives DM’s (Dansk Magisterforening) research award in natural sciences and technology. Professor Thomassen is recognized as being one of the leading researchers within his chosen field: graph theory. The researchers’ award is presented on the basis of recommendations from colleagues. 9 November  European research infrastructure DTU boosts research activities within the European large-scale facilities European Spallation Source (ESS) and The MAX IV Laboratory in Lund, Sweden, as well as The European X-Ray Laser Project XFEL in Hamburg, Germany. The partnership with the European facilities is the responsibility of DTU Physics and DTU Compute. 15 November Long-awaited traffic model ready DTU Transports releases version 1.0 Beta of the National Transport Model for trial operation. This is a comprehensive model of traffic and transport in Denmark, and is a long-awaited decision-making tool to help politicians evaluate future infrastructure projects. 57 DTU in profile 2013
