Campus Development 09/2015 Dear Reader If you work or study on one at DTU’s campuses, you will undoubtedly have noticed a lot of digging, driving, casting, and building taking place. You might have had to postpone your experiments for a couple of days because the building you work in was shaking. Perhaps you had to make a detour to get to your classes, because a building site was blocking your normal route. Maybe you are thinking about studying at DTU, and would like to know a little bit more about where you will be spending the next few years. Perhaps you are one of the researchers who will be moving from a department somewhere else in Denmark to Lyngby Campus and would like to know more about your future surroundings. Or perhaps you are based at one of DTU’s other locations on Zealand or in Jutland, and are keen to know more about the huge investments being made in new buildings. There are many different ways of experiencing first-hand the transformation which is taking place at DTU. Once you have read this newspaper, hopefully you will be a little wiser about the huge campus development project. Transforming DTU is about the bold investments being made in new university buildings, which will ensure new and improved working environments for students, researchers, lecturers, and departments. More than DKK 4 billion is being spent on new buildings, renovation, and infrastructure between 2010 and 2021 so that DTU can remain one of the leading elite technical universities in Europe, and attract students and researchers from around the world.
