6. Professor Ole Sigmund became
Villum Investigator
Ole Sigmund received a generous grant from
VILLUM FONDEN of DKK 31 million. He is one
of the first to receive a grant from the new
programme “VILLUM Investigators”.
7. The Danish Science Festival
More than a thousand guests attended the
DTU event Open Campus at the Danish Science
Festival in April to learn more about
research. Many guests visited our stand
presenting topology optimization and 3D
printing.
8. Students name Professor Tim
McAloone Lecturer of the Year
Each year, DTU students select two Lecturers
of the Year, and Chair of the PF students’
association Mette Bybjerg Brock presented
the award to Professor Tim McAloone at the
award ceremony at Commemoration Day.
9. Royal inspection of DTU Roadrunners’
ecocar
HRH Prince Joachim was a special guest
of honor at the official presentation of the
ecocar Dynamo 13.0, an established tradition
before the team takes part in the Shell Ecomarathon.
The team ended 2nd at the 2017
Shell Eco-Marathon.
10. Fishent won Spin Out Day
The team Fishent were appointed winner of
the Spin Out Day 2017, the event concluding
the course Innovation and Product Development.
As part of the prize the team received
DKK 50,000 and a stay at Berkeley University
to participate in an innovation camp in
the summer 2017.
