Bachelor of Engineering (BEng)
BEng programmes at DTU are 3.5-year industry and application
oriented engineering programmes based on the CDIO
concept: ‘Conceive, Design, Implement, and Operate’.
The language of instruction is primarily Danish, but students
learn both Danish and English specialist languages, and some
courses are provided in English.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSc Eng)
BSc Eng programmes at DTU are 3-year research-based undergraduate
engineering programmes that qualify students
studies at the master's level. DTU offers an international
BSc programme in General Engineering, taught exclusively in
English. The remaining BSc Eng programmes are primarily
taught in Danish, but students learn both Danish and English
specialist languages, and many courses are provided in English.
Master of Science in Engineering (MSc Eng)
MSc Eng programmes at DTU are 2-year research-based
programmes at the highest technological level. In these
programmes, students acquire the qualifications and skills
necessary to analyse, synthesize, and evaluate theory and
relating to complex engineering systems, problems,
and solutions. The language of instruction is English.
Honours tracks are available for all MSc Eng programmes.
Continuing education and master’s programmes
DTU offers part-time specialized and executive continuing
education programmes, ranging from free online courses
(Coursera) to single-course programmes, six part-time BEng
programmes, and several part-time master's programmes—e.g.
Master in Management of Technology (MMT) at DTU Executive
School of Business.
PhD students conduct scientific research projects of
highest international standard. DTU also offers industrial
PhD programmes where students are employed by
a company and simultaneously enrolled at the University.
