20 | CAMPUSLIV / CAMPUS LIFE | NR. 8·2015 LUNDBECK FOUNDATION FELLOWSHIPS The Lundbeck Foundation hereby invites applications for fellowships within biomedicine, including science projects with a clear biomedical angle and research plans, which will be granted to especially promising young researchers and their research groups. The fellowships are awarded for five years and each fellowship amounts to DKK 10 million (approx. Euro 1,3 million). The subject area should be frontline basic- or applied research within the scope of the Foundation’s grant strategy, which can be seen at www.lundbeckfonden.com The call invites Danish or foreign researchers from abroad, who wish to move to Denmark and continue their research here. The call is also open for applicants from Danish universities and university hospitals. The fellowships are intended for researchers who are qualified to establish or develop their own research groups within biomedicine and who have received their PhD degree within the last 5-7 years. The application should include an account of the research plan, collaborators, budget and how the research group is envisioned to be placed within a Danish research institution. In addition, it should include a letter of intent from a resident researcher at the host institution, who makes him- or herself available as a mentor to facilitate the applicant’s establishment of the research group as an integral part of the host institution. DTU er også på vandet i 2016 SEJLADS Som det eneste universitet deltog DTU i Sejlsportsligaens 2. division 2015. DTU on the water once more in 2016 SAILING DTU Sejlsport (DTU Sailing) competed in the Second Division of Sejlsportsligaen (The Danish Sailing League) in 2015, where the final has just been held on the club’s ‘home water’ in Svanemøllen Harbour. The DTU team got off to a slow start in the first meets, but, as the team became more experienced and cohesive, the results gradually began to improve—although unfortunately not enough to maintain a place in the Second Division. However, the DTU team did not finish the season completely empty-handed, as it was presented with Sejlsportsligaen’s Media Award and Fighter Prize, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame. There was more good news after the end of the season: One of the newly promoted clubs—Københavns Sejlklub—has asked DTU Sejlsport if the team would be interested in sailing for them next season. Even though the agreement has not yet been finalized, DTU Sejlsport has high hopes of being on the starting line at next season’s events. DTU is the only university in Denmark that is represented in Sejlsportsligaen, where every club must present an 8-strong team—although only four at a time are required to crew the boat. All students are welcome to take part, and the 60 members of the association include MSc, BSc, PhD and exchange students from DTU. Af Henrik Larsen DTU Sejlsport deltog i Sejlsportsligaens 2. division 2015, hvor finalen netop er blevet sejlet på hjemmebane i Svanemøllen Havn. DTU-holdet kom sløjt fra start i ligaens første stævner, men efterhånden som holdet blev sammensejlet og fik opbygget en god rutine, blev resultaterne også bedre – selvom det ikke var nok til at beholde en plads i 2. division. Helt tomhændet er DTU-holdet dog ikke, da det i sæsonens løb modtog Sejlsportsligaens Media Award, Fighter Prisen samt Hall of Fame. Der var også en god nyhed efter sæsonafslutningen: En af de nyoprykkede klubber, Københavns Sejlklub, har spurgt DTU Sejlsport, om holdet kunne være interesseret i at sejle for dem i næste sæson. Selvom aftalen endnu ikke er helt på plads, håber DTU Sejlsport også at kunne stille op i næste sæsons stævner. DTU er det eneste universitet i Danmark, der er repræsenteret i Sejlsportsligaen, hvor hver klub må stille med op til otte mand, dog kun med fire i båden ad gangen. Alle studerende kan være med, og foreningen har blandt sine 60 medlemmer både civil-, bachelor-, ph.d.- og udvekslingsstuderende fra DTU. „Vi har mange udvekslingsstuderende blandt vores medlemmer, fordi vi underviser på engelsk. Det foregår en gang om ugen i Skovshoved og Rungsted, som er de havne, vi bruger. Vi underviser både erfarne sejlere og nybegyndere i klubbens joller og kølbåde,“ fortæller Peter Juhl Savnik, der er i gang med kandidatuddannelsen i elektroteknologi og har sejlet for DTU Sejlsport på ligaholdet i 2015. DTU Sejlsport har flere typer medlemskaber: ’Touring’, ’Racing’ samt et særligt medlemskab for ’Matchrace’, som udbydes i samarbejde med Kongelig Dansk Yachtklub, KDY. Da klubben har mange udvekslingsstuderende, tilbydes også et halvårligt medlemskab. Klubben råder over to trapezjoller, fire laserjoller, en yngling (kølbåd) og en x-79 (kølbåd).
